Responses to the various record requests sent to the City of Lauderdale Lakes have flowed into MAOS and as a whole, we found the results to be less than inspiring.
For instance, we requested:
any/all disciplinary actions signed by City Manager Jonathan Allen since April of 2011.
Those records of Allen, who, by the way, assumed the role of City Manager about eight months ago, rang in at a whopping $486.64 to research.
Photocopying cost not included.
And if we are willing to spend $173.04, we’ll get:
“for the last 2 months, all emails sent from any city email account or those personal email accounts used by elected officials and/or city staff in conduct of official business” regarding the following keywords.
- Black Elected Official
- BrowardPost.com
- MAOS
- Chaz Stevens
- Great Caribbean American
- FBI
- Gwyn Clarke-Reed
- Hazelle Rogers
- MAOS
- MyActsOfSedition.com
- My Acts Of Sedition
- Timothy Donnelly
Tipping the $1,000.00 PRR scale would be $358.20 needed to secure copies (since 2007) of the following credit card statements:
- American Express
- Walmart
- Sears
- Bank Of America
- Home Depot
- Sams Club
- BJs Club
We note that this isn’t the first time we’ve encountered problems such as this … and counter to what you might believe, we take this a good sign our investigation is on the right track.
