Updated | Many folks know there is no love lost between Bob Norman and myself, so it comes with a certain glee for us to break the news that Norman may be looking at a criminal charge of trespassing. Seems that his “Hey, do you know who I am?” may not be all that effective as a get out of jail free card.
Story goes like this.
There’s a kerfuffle in Parkland over a property issue (Hunter’s Run Equestrian Center), so Norman and his video photographer drive over to investigate, open a closed gate, enter private property without permission, and park their
Channel 10 news van private vehicle.
Given the huge problems, the owner, on a short chain, receives a call about the invaders, so she tools over looking for possible criminal trespassers.
Possible criminal trespassers AKA Bob Norman, Investigative Reporter.
Arriving on scene, the owner blocks in the camerawoman’s
investigative reporter’s news van car.
BSO, responding to the call, finds Norman’s team jamming an unwanted camera in the face of the property owner. When Norman is told he could not enter private property, he supposedly said “I am an investigative reporter, I can go wherever I want”.
Apparently not Bob. The law even applies to you.
BSO’s report makes it to the desk of Al Lamberti, where it is then forwarded to the SAO. SAO assigns it to a senior prosecutor, who opines a prima facie case can be made.
At the moment, SAO is said to be seriously considering the arrest of Bob Norman.
