Here’s an update on the Belle Glade dump truck.
And it comes in the form of an email we sent to the PB SAO and OIG.

I wish to revise my complaint filed against the City of Belle Glade regarding garbage truck Unit #707.
Today, upon receiving an image of the actual speedometer, I learned:
- Miles reading “4321″ can be accounted — as that of the gear indicator.
- The difference in miles can be accounted – when the display is set for kilometers.
I will admit when I asked for the current odometer reading, it was provided as “miles”, not kilometers. Hence my confusion.
Therefore, given this new information, the basis for my complaint no longer exists. Though I wonder about Archer filling up on his days off.
I will publish an update on my blog and have notified the members of the press who have written a story based on my complaint.
