Lots of discussion concerning Eric Haynes and his relationship to the Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) last night. Accusations made that Haynes was the PR Director for the Broward Alliance for Neighborhood Development the way he was acting as a cheerleader for them. And why would the city waive code compliance fees for BAND and the property is not even in compliance yet. They do not do that for residents but for outsiders they would?
What is Haynes connection to BAND? Should he declare a conflict on these votes as he works with NSP throughout the County and with BAND in other places? Not kosher we would say… big time conflict of interest.
Finally with Mayor Dick Russell breaking the 3-3 tie it passes. Haynes and his two zombies Commissioners Mustard Coleman and Gerry Rafferty did it again. Russell had to be awakened from his nap and Haynes told him to shake his head yes. Commissioner LaVoyd Williams valiantly tried to table the item but Haynes and Russell bitched slapped him down again. But the division is now becoming more evident now — 3 to 3 ties with Russell casting the deciding vote against the residents. Wonder what Haynes and Allen have on him?
As Haynes and Allen say- it is good to be King.
Speaking of Gerry Rafferty:
Winding your way down on Baker Street
Light in your head, and dead on your feet
Well another crazy day
You drink the night away
And forget about everything
This city desert makes you feel so cold,
Its got so many people but its got no soul
And it’s taken you so long to find out you were wrong
When you thought it held everything
