Re: Jonathan K. Allen vs. Larry Tibbs & Timothy Stevens
Mr. Allen:
As you directed your letter regarding Mr. Tibbs and Mr. Stevens to our office, you are undoubtedly aware that our firm represents Mr. Stevens and MAOS Media Partners, LLC.
In regards to your cease and desist letter written on behalf of your son, I can only speak on behalf of Mr. Stevens and MAOS – we do not represent Mr. Tibbs, nor are we aware of any “collective effort” between Mr. Tibbs and our client. Our client has no financial relationship with Mr. Tibbs and does not work in conjunction with him. Perhaps your son is presuming certain facts incorrectly?
Our client is exercising his 1st Amendment rights as a journalist/blogger based upon documents provided to him by his sources, or those which are gathered and/or refused through public record requests. Without question, MAOS has ruffled its fair share of feathers in south Florida, in most cases with good reason and supports its opinions with underlying documentation.
Our client has indicated that he/it has no intention of abridging these rights for any individual or entity regardless of the threat of SLAP or similar litigation. Such threats are becoming more and more commonplace.
In any event, we will defend our client vigorously against any frivolous or misguided litigation. Should you wish to discuss maters further or elaborate on the alleged false allegations, threats, attempted extortion, slander, libel defamation and invasion of privacy, you are welcome to call our office at your leisure.

The strength of MAOS comes from our community of ass-kicking, ball-busting activists. Please, chip in to help us expand the reach of our activist base by building the next generation media and organizing platform.
MAOS is a very costly and resource intensive operation. Our staff contributes hundreds of hours per month, digging into stories that other news sources find too difficult. We search for tales with "moral clarity." Our team strives to make our community a better place, for all that live here.
Contributions to MAOS are not tax deductible for federal income tax purposes. Donations are securely processed thru PayPal and will remain anonymous.
If you're reading, chances are we helped clean up your community. Now show your appreciation, or you'll go to hell.
