From an email into AOS this morning regarding Mr. James Jones, I was informed:
1) It's the City of Deerfield Beach's position that Mr. James Jones met the job qualifications for the MOST program.
2) It is the position of folks around town that Mr. Jones was not even remotely close to meeting the MOST program education and experience requirements.
3) In order to receive support from the MOST program, Deerfield Beach must comply with the program requirement
4) When pressed about Jones' qualification, the City of Deerfield Beach did not cooperate with requests for proof of such qualifications
5) Contrary to the requirements of the MOST program, Mr. Jones was employed by our City prior to receiving full pre-employment clearance.
6) Mr. Jones' personnel file, when reviewed last summer, was nearly empty with the exception of his employment application which showed he did not finish college or have the experience required by the MOST grant program.
So, you are probably asking yourself, why the big deal Chaz? Why has AOS declared War on the Jones kid? He's likely some poor slub trying to make a living.
And, if that is your belief in this matter, then you got it all bass ackwards.
Allow me to clarify.
As Deerfield's reigning change agent, I was part of the process that forced the removal of both Capellini and Gonot. And, hopefully, with my complaint to the SAO and FDLE regarding Poitier's actions, I'll go 3 for 3.
So, that means, we have a mostly new Commission. Yeah, I get that Marty is still there, but have you seen him lately? He's an odds on favorite to be pushing daisies before Labor Day.
We have a new dais. We don't have Larry Deetjen. Regardless of what our City Manager might think or say, this is now his City. The honeymoon is over. For good or bad, sickness or in health.
Did I mention that Marva's gone.
You've heard me rail about it before. Not only did we have to remove the Commissioner and Mayor, we need to get a clean sweep on upper management.
Therefore, I am going to do something I *very very* rarely do and that is address this to a particular someone.
Hey Mike Mahaney, do us all a favor. Fire the fuckers. $150K for part time work? Management by those with GED's? Come on dood. Make your mark. Put us on the map. Step to the plate and knock it out the park.
The time is now and the time is yours. Don't do what normally happens in town. And by that I mean, fuck it up.
