PRESS RELEASE: PUPPY MILL ORDINANCE IN HALLANDALE BEACH
There is a Hallandale Beach City commission meeting on Wednesday, April 4 at 7:00.
The meeting is a result of community outcry for the city to pass an ordinance banning the retail sales of dogs born in puppy mills.
This two year campaign has been led by Michele Lazarow. Mayor Joy Cooper has been the sole voice in opposition. Keith London has championed this from the beginning. I do not know how the remaining Commissioners will vote. Hallandale Beach would be the third South Florida city to pass the ordinance with Lake Worth and Parkland the first two.
The speakers attending in favor of this item are: Broward County Animal Care and Adoption, Broward County Humane Society, Animal Right’s Foundation of Florida and other Hallandale Beach and Broward County residents. We are expecting no less than 75-100 supporters.
Please put this on your calendars. Your coverage of this issue will help the local County shelters and put extra pressure on the Commission.
