An open letter to staff.

Dear Employees of Lauderdale Lakes;

By now, many of you have heard all about me. Let me say this in my defense … I’m not nearly as bad as some make me out to be, and at times, even worse.

That being said, what you might not know is that I have a proven track record of holding public officials accountable for their actions. Recently, my work with the United States Department of Justice resulted in a local public leader being fined $50,000 for misappropriations of taxpayer funds.  And thankfully, this fellow is no longer in the grant business.

And this Thursday, former Deerfield Beach commissioner Steve Gonot will appear before the 4th District Court of Appeals with the hopes of overturning his two felony corruption charges (brought on by my work).  I opine all for naught, and very shortly Gonot will be serving 364 days behind bars. Add to that list Commissioner Sylvia Poitier (arrested), Mayor Al Capellini (arrested), and the entire senior management structure of the Deerfield Beach Housing Authority left en masse.

So trust me when I say, I’m superb at rooting out public corruption.

As you know, your City Manager is under an investigation by the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office (spawned from my complaints). The Broward County Commission and the State of Florida Joint Legislative Auditing Committee are launching investigations into Jon Allen‘s handling of our tax money, the CRA fiasco, more no-bid contracts, destroyed public records, and a raft of other issues.

Literally and figuratively, we have Allen on the ropes, but he’s not going down without a fight. Case in point, he just took the axe to your public works department, firing decent hardworking individuals, while allowing others to keep their job (and their ball cap).

That really pissed me off, so here I am, sending this communique, asking for your help.

I’ve been told that a security camera tape possibly exists containing footage of Allen in a sexually compromising position. If this tape does exist, then the public needs to be made aware of its contents.  My sources tell me that Patrick James might have access to this video.

And here’s where you come in.

If you know James, reach out to him. Pass along my contact information. Ask him to give me a call. Let’s get that video and rock Allen’s world.

If you’re fed up with Allen’s nonsense, stand up and be counted. Anonymously, with your identity hidden. Together, you and I can make a difference.

Kindly share this email.

Best to you.
