RE: Auditing Contract with City of Lauderdale Lakes

Our September 23, 2013 letter outlined the many problems associated with Lauderdale Lakes’
2011 and 2012 audited financial statements. In that communication, I asked you to ferret out the
truth during your audits, ultimately forcing the City to comply with accurate accounting and
reporting.

I still hold out a faint glimmer of hope.

Feedback from the January 27, 2014 workshop indicates your firm has identified several problem
areas. I concur with your estimation, and suggest these issues are monumental in the scope and
cover up. I hope your firm is up to the challenge.

I’ve filed a complaint with numerous agencies, including the SEC, HUD Inspector General, State
Inspector General, and State Auditor General, outlining the many issues associated with the City,
City Manager Jon Allen, previous auditor Rod Harvey, and the ongoing “Ponzi” scheme. In
response, the SEC and State of Florida Chief Inspector General have both opened up
investigations.

And word has it the Miami-Dade SAO is moving closer to arresting Allen for his felony bid
splitting nonsense.

MAOS is here to help. All you need to do is ask.

Sincerely,

Timothy “Chaz” Stevens
